A Motivational Message From Mary E. Gilder...

SOMETHING IS BREWING - YOU CAN FEEL IT IN THE AIR

Recently, I was sharing in a powerful conversation with my dear friend Juanita; a conversation that stirred a great deal of emotion. We shared stories of how so many individuals around us appear to be overwhelmed. They're overwhelmed with Stress, Anxiety, Fear, Depression, Sadness etc...In addition, so many have loss their Homes, Investments, Automobiles, Jobs and sense of self worth.

While in the midst of just trying to cope, some are faced with decreased levels of: Faith, Hope, Courage,Joy, Creativity, Trust, etc....

My friend and I went on to discuss how we believe that something is brewing and how we can feel it in the air; a shift. And how we are all being impacted by this shift on some level. Furthermore, we believe that the ramifications extend beyond the human race. The scope of this shift reaches the Animal kingdom, Sea life, Plant life, Insects etc...all are impacted due to our interconnectedness.

Their our numerous philosophies that pertain to life and our purpose and my goal is not to challenge them however; Juanita and I stand un waived in this belief; we are all on a journey and their is a message to be gained from all that is transpiring before our very eyes. Yes, indeed!!!

As you move forward in your journey, never forget that GOD is in control, hold on to His words because they are TRUE; HE is true to HIS word. Maintain Faith, Hope, Joy and just Trust that HE is in control.

It is vital that we continue to utilize ourselves as vessels of encouragement for others and invest in extending , Love, Joy, Hope, kindness, LOVE and words of wisdom to all. LIFE can be extremely challenging and many of us need to be reminded that GOD is true to HIS word, many need to be reminded that they are LOVED, that they matter and the fact that they are HERE is no mistake.

I do believe that GOD utilizes us as tools to remind each other of our worth and to remind each other that HE is who HE proclaims to be!!!

Regardless of what is brewing around you, maintain a deep Faith and keep spreading Hope, Peace, Joy and LOVE ,

FATHER'S DAY MESSAGE

Today, was a very special day on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show. It was special because I set aside time to celebrate father's Day. I do believe that with Father's Day, comes an opportunity to be exposed to millions of valuable life lessons, challenges and teachings that provide insight. I set aside time to highlight three examples pertaining to Father's Day, that have left me beyond inspired..

Example one: Pertained to how the Dad's who step up actually outweigh those who don't. And how the majority of Father's are proudly standing on the front line each and every day for their families, while being the constant protector. My mom once shared with me how my maternal Grand Father, who was a proud City Employee, so often to prolong the purchasing of new work boots, would wrap his torn work boots with duck tape because he felt that the money would be better utilized within the family home.

Example Two: Pertained to the importance of Father's never giving up on their children. I shared how a Dad shared with me his frustration with his daughter because years prior there had been words pertaining to him being absent from her life when she was a young child. As a result, he was left feeling very hopeless. I also shared how so many fathers are facing this exact crises and I advised all Father's tuning in to NEVER give up because it's never to late to transform your relationship with your child. Yes, there are some things you can give up on but never give up on cultivating a positive relationship with your child. I also stressed for Dad's to fight for renewal power in your relationship with your child and remember that through GOD all things are possible.

Example Three: Pertained to having no regrets. I expanded on this topic by sharing how for so many Father's Day opens up wounds that are so desperately trying to heal. And how many like myself had to say good-bye to our Father's much to soon. All were reminded of how life is so very short and because you are only here for a moment, you don't have a life time to re-invent your child or a life time to re-invent your Father. All you have is this moment!!!

The segment concluded with me acknowledging all of the Dad's standing on the front line 24/7 for their families. I wanted them to know that we see them, we honor them and we love them. Most importantly, it was important for all of the Dad's to understand, that even though we set aside this day to treat them like ROYALTY and to shower them with LOVE, within our hearts we know and acknowledge that Father's Day is every day.

Nothing but LOVE extended today on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show.

(Sun. June 12, 2011)Mary's Motivational Message Blog

(Sun. June 12, 2011) Mary's Motivational Message: HATER TERMINATOR

Today on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show I shared how for years, various individuals have shared with me their disbelief, sadness, bewilderment, disappointment and anger due to their experiences with HATERS. I never truly understood what it felt like to be hated on, until I had a front row seat to it. I shared how several weeks ago, I received a call from an associate who just need some one to listen. She went on to share how she started a small business and in the developing stage, family and friends were on the front line because they knew that this was her dream. they watched her struggle and go through the trails and tribulations...that one goes through when starting small business. Well she went on to state that once her business was up and running, many of the individuals who she just knew would be celebrating and cheering her on, now appeared to be uninterested. Some minimized her positive outcomes or failed to acknowledge her achievements.

In advising it's easy to state: Just turn it over to GOD, Pray on it, stay strong etc...But what individuals need most is validation. Validation that it's not okay for family and friends to behave this way. The truth of the matter is that it does hurt and I shared how it is okay to acknowledge this reality. I also explored why individuals may fall into this category: many feel lousy about themselves, perhaps a lack of faith in GOD'S love. Also, many live a miserable existence because I firmly believe that the energy you put out into the Universe is returned to you with a mightier force.

In addition, I shared how my associate stated that GOD showed her that HE is still control by placing a support system within her life, folks who genuinely care about her journey. She reports that her support system, motivate and encourage her to reach for the stars.

My message to all was to stay strong in faith and stay strong in prayer and be assured that the "Hater Terminator" can adjust what is taking place within your life within the blink of an eye. HE will terminate the actions of those who wish for you a chaotic state of existing. HE will terminate their thoughts, their actions and their will. And HE will place within your life, what it is you desire and the people needed...to move you to were He needs you to be. I closed out my segment by reading, "HATER" By Maya Angelou.

(Sun. May 15, 2011) Mary's Sunday Blog (Giving A Shout-Out To Others)

GIVING A SHOUT-OUT TO OTHERS

Over the years so much has been said about the EGO. I refer to an out of control EGO as (The ME Syndrome).Today's show focused on how for many, it's very easy to view the world from just one perspective; your own. And its easy to view all outcomes and every encounter that you engage in through your set of lenses. Even if the lenses are desperately in-need of a new prescription, it somehow always boils down to you and your perspective. In addition, I went on to explain how it's easy make the focus on all of the negativity going on within your own life, the center of all discussions. Someone can ask you a simple question such as, "how are you" and you spend 15-minutes in endless chatter about all that's not right within your life. The focus of any conversation, positive or negative, remains on you.

Those of you who follow me know that I stress the importance of honoring yourself. I'm in love with love and believe in maintaining a positive spirit. In addition, I stress the importance of thinking outside of "your box", expanding your reach and looking beyond all that pertains to you. I want you to think about your journey in relation to the journey of others and look at the correlations. How the journey of one adds to that of another, in some direct or indirect way. I went on to state that in my opinion, life is like a recipe, everyone adding an ingredient and a experience that adds richness and substance. A richness not only to their experience but to yours as well.

Wherever you are, whatever you have attained, was made available to you with some level of collaboration. Sometimes as we give praise to our selves, we just need to also extend a shout out to others. In doing so we remind ourselves that this journey is not only about us, it's actually a collaboration. All were encouraged to set aside time today, and send a shout out to those who have helped you along your journey or to those in-need of a shout out.

Praising ourselves as well as others this morning on Inspirational Conversation Radio Show.

Much Love,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
(A Tribute to Moms)

Today on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show, Cyrus and I honored MOMS. The show opened with a wonderful song titled "MOMMA". The selection brought me to tears because it was so fitting. Following the song selection, I shared with our radio audience how I presented our face book friends with this question, "How has being a mom enhanced your journey." I was in boxed by several moms who gave me permission to share their responses. All provided insight as to how and why moms love as deeply as we do. I shared three of the responses with our radio audience.

All moms were encouraged to set aside time on Mother's Day, to convey their thoughts to their families because it's important that our families understand the following: we love them unconditionally, we never lose the will to be their biggest cheer-leader, advocate, motivator, mentor, life coach, therapist, teacher, spiritual adviser; as well as, maintaining a strong desire to protect because our tour of duty will never end, you will always be your mom's poo-bear.

All tuning in were encouraged to honor that special mom in their life with their time. Gifts are appreciated however, the greatest gift that will stand the test of time, is your time. The show concluded with all being reminded to treasure all that the mom within their life symbolizes. In addition, to make a commitment to recognize and celebrate Mother's Day on some level each and everyday.

Wishing you endless JOY,

LIVE EACH DAY AS THOUGH IT IS YOUR LAST

Today Cyrus A. Webb and I joyfully returned to Inspirational Conversations Radio Show after being on a one month vacation. Sometimes you need to take a break and connect with your thoughts. I shared with our radio audience how my goal had been to discuss something light but after spending time at my literary "spot", I was moved in a different direction. I challenged our radio audience to think about their life up until the very moment of 11:59pm Saturday night. I wanted then to reflect on what was weighing on their heart, what was weighing them down. In addition, they were all instructed to close their eyes and reflect on their life within that very moment and to focus on who they where angry at or who they had a rift with. Our radio audience was also encouraged to focus their regrets.

In my opinion, it is so easy to say to another, "live each and everyday as though were your last," many have been encouraged, instructed or pleaded with to treasure each and everyday. And I shared how for many such as myself, it has been told to us by individuals on their death bed.

The audience was also encouraged to play it forward. They were told to imagine receiving a phone call on Monday morning stating that, that day would be their last day on earth. They were asked to reflect on their life within that very moment: What would be weighing on their heart, who would be weighing on their heart, what anger would they harbor or release, who would they make peace with, what places would they journey too and what people would they make time to see.

I shared how I was certain that all would live that day with no regrets but most of all, they would let go of every stressor, and let go of negative thoughts except for LOVE. Within in that moment I'm certain that most would align with LOVE and treasure all that is dear. Also, wishing within that moment each had time, more time, to make things RIGHT. All were reminded that if they awoke that morning, they were blessed with just that: more time; another day of living. It was recommended to all that if they did nothing else, it was the wish of Cyrus and I, that they treasure not just that day, but to live each and every day, as though it were their last.

Love, Peace and Joy...24/7,

Mary's Blog for 3/27/2011 (Inspirational Conversations)

A MESSAGE THAT WILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME

To days' show was a follow up to my RED BOOK Magazine feature article. The Article highlighted my experience with being a BULLY. I shared how I was honored yet, concerned that the articles primary focus would be placed on the bullying and less on the lessons gained. Many not only read the article but they also reached out to me, including the media with various questions.  I was honored to set aside time on today's show and respond to several of the questions. Advice was given for those who are BULLIES, to those who are being BULLIED and to the parents of both.

However, I found the most profound question to be: What have I learned from my experience as a young BULLY: Well, I learned that, it's important that you never count yourself out. Regardless, of what you are, who you are, what you were or what they said you would never have the capacity to become, that chapter pertaining to your journey, is still being written and within you lies the capacity to achieve greatness. There is a lesson to be gained from every experience. And for many, long after you have gained the lessons, atoned and moved forward within your journey, GOD has the capacity, to bring a buried experience to the forefront and utilize you and your experience as a tool to bring about positive change within others.

It is my hope that today's message on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show, will stand the test of time.

Love, Peace and Joy,

Mary's Blog for 3/20/2011 (Inspirational Conversations)

THE BEST MEDICINE FOR THE SOUL IS THE LOVE OF FAMILY
Think about how much time, patience and stitching goes into the creation of a crouched blanket: the same can be said about the rearing  of a child. Lot's of time and patience goes into creating a solid foundation. With each stitch, you are weaving in love, wisdom. knowledge, strength, courage, respect, honor, core values, dignity, honesty, kindness etc. With each stitch your parents were simply preparing you to step out into the world and pursue your goals.

For many if you think back to your teenage response; there was an urgency to break free from their clutches, their attempts to contain you. However, one day your parents veiled you with your blanket and you stepped out into the world with your armor and when you were least prepared for battle, life happened. With each challenge you encountered, you found yourself clinging to your armor. I went on to share how even in the best of circumstances, we never stop longing for the love, reassurance, protection, joy, and realness that family brings to us.

In addition, I shared how during the week of March 20th, I was in San Diego for several Literary events as well as, sharing time with my family. I arrived depleted and with each passing hour, I felt my soul being  replenished. I find it amazing how mom's love, family hugs, combined with the love of good friends is a recipe for a fabulous experience. I invited all to set aside time to invest in family.

I concluded by reminding all of how so many times when a family member is gravely ill or passes away, we say, if I only had one more day, if I could just sit with this person and express what it is I feel, if I only had more time, I would cherish it. I stated that if you woke up this morning, then you had been given just that...another day!!! All were encouraged to spend that day cherishing family and friends.

        THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS

I started off Sunday's show by asking these important questions: How many of you are holding on to anger, holding on to a grudge, or seeking out revenge for a incident that occurred recently or many years ago? I noted that for many not forgiving or letting go is about winning. The winning of what; extra heart ache, additional stress, additional worry, anxiety, endless conflict and regrets; no power in that. I also shared the details of an incident that occurred many years ago and how I refused to let go and how a friend explained to me that when we hold on to anger, we give our power away. The person who wronged  you is off living their life and you're still holding on and waiting for some sort of acknowledgment and in all honesty, that apology may never come. She went on to state that peace on every level starts with forgiveness. Forgive them and in doing so, you will actually free your self of negative energy and you will lighten your emotional load. I shared how it took me awhile but I finally learned how to let go.

My belief is that when you refuse to let go and let GOD, you give opportunity for negative thoughts to enter your mind and contaminate your spirit. You start thinking and acting in ways that may not be a reflection of who you are. I also came to understand that we are all on a journey and as we move through life, we encounter individuals at various points within their journey and they encounter us at various points within our journey. I went on to state that some of you are holding on to a moment within someone Else's journey that may longer exist, that one experience that made you so angry, may no longer be reflective of who they are today.

Today's show concluded with these words: Your visit here is so short, perhaps, the time has come to let it go...let go of the anger and if the relationship is of importance, work it out. I'm asking you to practice forgiveness and let GOD. In addition, the following Scriptures were read, Colossians 3:14 and Roman's 12:19.

A lot of forgiving was going on today, on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show.

THERE IS A PURPOSE IN YOUR STRUGGLE

Today's show was based on a email request submitted from a local college student, whose desire was for Inspirational conversations Radio Show, to provide inspiration to those college students who are putting forth much effort yet, they are left with feelings of depletion. She believes that many of her fellow students want to soar but due to stress and mental exhaustion, many are unable to flap their wings. And as a result, many are left to ask, "is there truly a purpose in their day to day struggle." I explained how I initially declined her request because I had just presented this topic months ago. The show was titled, "The Back To School Blues." As a result, I declined the students' request.

I went on to share how a couple of days after deciding against the topic, I received an email marked of high importance. The emails sender stated how she had came across a wonderful story and felt that it would bless me. The message presenter went on to talk about the metamorphosis of a Caterpillar into a butterfly and how the story is a reminder of how the struggles we endure, are meant to strengthen and equip us for our destiny. The story was read and its' moral was: As you go through school and life, keep in mind that struggling is an important part of any growth experience. In fact, it is the struggle that causes you to develop the ability to fly.

I concluded my segment with stating how when the student sought out my wisdom, I felt that this was not the time to address her request but GOD saw differently. In addition, I also felt that I had no way of re packaging the message presented months ago. However, GOD solved my delimma by sending to me the very message, those students needed to hear at that very moment.

Much purpose in today's message on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show.

A CELEBRATION OF THE HISTORY IN THE MAKING

On Sunday Cyrus and I set aside time to celebrate history in the making. February is the month of LOVE and it is also the month for honoring those who have paved the way for so many. I shared how several weeks ago, I received a invite from Alameda County (Ca), to speak at their annual Black History Celebration. Their desire was for me to share my journey as an author. I agreed to participate and the morning of the event, I was moved to re-vamp my speech. Two hours before I was set to depart, I was at my computer re-writing my words. For whatever reason, I was moved to take the focus away from myself. Three-hundred employees were expected at that event and it was my moment but I was being pulled in a different direction.

I shared with the radio audience a small portion of what I shared. I explained how there is no greater joy than standing on the front line and advocating everyday for children and their families, the elderly and for those with disabilities; no greater legacy. I also shared how we are all blessed with many talents, passions, desires and dreams. And for those who are working a 9 to 5 and feel as though they are sitting on a dream; they were reminded hat the only person stopping them, are the very barriers they build. Life is not am all or nothing gig. All were reminded of how it takes courage to follow your passions because to do so may cause a shift, a discomfort but if Cyrus and I can do it, they can as well.

In closing, all were encouraged to remember the importance of displaying gratitude to those standing on the front line but most importantly to never forget the legacy that you leave each and every day.

It's amazing, how GOD will take a situation and utilize you as a tool, to simply deliver his message.. It was never about me, it was about the message God sent me to deliver. However, in the end, I gained so very much.

A little bit of history was made today on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show.

(Sun. Feb. 20, 2011) Mary's Motivational Message

Many of you have stated that you desire more love within your life. Yet, when
it's in your face you question, reject and ridicule those who exude love. On
Sunday morning Inspirational Conversations Radio Show host Cyrus A. Webb and
Mary E. Gilder, explored what is love. Webster's Dictionary describes many
definitions from Brotherly love, romantic love, self love etc.
Mary shared how the Bible indicates that love is from GOD. In fact, the Bible
states GOD is love. Love is one of the primary characteristics of GOD. Likewise,
GOD has endowed us with the capacity for love. Love is one of the ways in which
we are created, in the image of GOD. Furthermore, the New Testament uses two
different words to describe and define love. AGAPE represents GOD'S love. It is
non-partial and unconditional. In contrast, our love is all based on the
familiar, direct interaction and our emotions. This is referred to as PHILEO.

Mary shared a conversation that she and Cyrus had noting that as individuals
move closer towards AGAPE love, they are questioned. When we observe those with
unconditional love, we question it. Mary suggested to all that if they desire
more love within their life, then they need to align with GOD and reframe from
placing a condition on the love within their heart. The show concluded with the
reading of 1st Corinthian 13:1-13.
Nothing but love extended today on Inspirational Conversations Radio

(Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011) Mary's Motivational Message

Last Sunday, just one day prior to Valentines day, I shared how it appears that LOVE has it's own special Holiday. It is my belief that Valentines Day is a beautiful  "thang ". It's an additive, appetizer and compliment to the main event. The main event being good old fashion LOVE. I also shared how each and every year we do this dance while being worried, burnt out, stressed out and then like a cool evening breeze...Valentines Day is over, shut down and forgotten by many.

I ask the question: Is it possible to lose oneself in LOVES many facets or is LOVE'S Holiday simply an indulgence? An indulgence reserved for one special day and if so, why not experience such an indulgence, three hundred and sixty-five days out of any given year. I also shared my belief that LOVE'S Holiday is about embracing LOVE. The LOVE of your spouse, LOVE of your boyfriend or girlfriend. The LOVE of your children, the LOVE you hold for extended family and friends. We give the day restrictions and why do we do so. I encourage all to be less restricted. As we moved past Valentines Day, I encouraged all to be mindful of this truth, LOVE'S Holiday is what you proclaim it to be. It can be as short as one day or as long as each and everyday of you life.

(Sun. Feb. 6, 2011) Mary's Motivational Message: Success

HOW DO YOU MEASURE SUCCESS

Today on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show, your host Mary E. Gilder and Cyrus A.Webb re-visited the meaning of the word SUCCESS. Mary shared her belief of how certain topics need to be explored yearly. Mary asked all to reflect on the following question, do you ever find yourself reflecting on the following: how do I measure up, have I achieved enough, do I have enough or are am I where I'm suppose to be? Mary shared a dream that she had that pertained to how many of us hold the idea that success is based on power and prestige. And many of us judge others based on our perceptions of what success looks like.

Mary advised all not to waste time or energy, comparing and measuring our personal success with that of another. We are all on are own individual path, a road map designed by GOD.  Mary added by saying that the mere fact that you are on a journey and you're committed to the journey and you are engaged in the experience, makes you successful. Success is not only attained by reaching some end result.

Mary ended the segment by encouraging all to set aside a little selfish time and think about what personal success means to you.  Also, is your journey thus far reflective of that vision as well as, GODS vision for your life.
Another beautiful morning on Inspirational Conversations radio Show.

(Sun. January 23) Mary's Blog for Inspirational Conversations

   HOPE

Sunday on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show, I explored the foundation of an email sent to the shows email box.  The email challenged me to self reflect on if the tools I present on the show are realistic or am I making it appear that the path to self enlightenment, is a simple journey. The email read, "Mary is it possible that some people can't connect with the value of their soul and their internal wealth because of low self esteem  or because of trauma. And if so, after therapy or an intervention, can they then come to a full realization of their personal value/internal wealth?" I would like to note that a response was forwarded to the questions presenter.

On the show I responded by stating that my goal is to present a message that will hopefully, move our radio audience to self reflect. It's not my goal, to make the process appear to be simplistic. Regardless, of where you are within your journey, the message must be delivered. The goal of Inspirational Conversations Radio Show is to move you. Cyrus and I want to move you in such a way, that you will be inspired to look at your life from a different perspective; understanding that regardless of what you have been through, GOD has not forgotten you and you must maintain HOPE.  In addition, the following Scriptures pertaining to HOPE were read (2 Corinthians 1:10, Romans 15:12 and Jeremiah 29:12).

Mary's Blog: How To Gain Your Harmony

                                                 HOW TO GAIN YOUR HARMONY
(Sunday, January 16, 2011) Today on Inspirational Conversations Radio Show, shared was the importance of moving into the New Year with your thoughts, beliefs and actions in alignment. The goal being a (Harmonic Flow). A letter was read, that had been emailed by a radio guest who desired to regain her harmony . Her internal harmony was disrupted because she had been holding on to anger and resentment. The letter was inspirational, reminding all, of how so many, invest time and effort into constructing New Year Resolutions however, many of the very issues that have crippled so many, were dragged into 2011.

It was noted, that if you desire Harmony in 2011, toxic behaviors and toxic beliefs must be left in 2010. Harmony in 2011 starts with "addressing" the very issues that have weighed you down emotionally and physically. A scripture from the book of Matthew was shared. The segment concluded with this reminder "GODS harmony, deals with the harmony of the entire system and not necessarily individual parts."

Mary's Motivational Message: "How Less Can Equate To More"

HOW LESS CAN EQUATE TO MORE
Last week Mary discussed how many are motivated and influenced by there New Years Eve resolutions and how the foundation of most resolutions evolve from the need of wanting more $$$$$$$$$$!!! Mary shared how while on vacation, her return to Northern, California was met with complications. And the result was her trip being extended for one additional week. A major complication was her having limited clothing because her luggage had been sent ahead of time. She was left with one pair of pants, three blouses and one pair of shoes etc...). Mary shared how for only a moment, she was concerned and how making the decision to let go gave to her a sense of liberation and empowerment. Stressing how so many of us hold on, when letting go is actually in our best interest. It was also explored how her load being lightened, allowed for her to take the focus away from her personal needs and focus on the love of her family and friends.

Yes, Mary stated that God lightened her load emotionally and physically and in the end, she didn't lose, she actually gained.
